FRP Pultruded Gratings

Pultruded Gratings are manufactured by assembly of Pultruded | Beams (Load Bearing members) & Pultruded Cross Rods (Cross Locking members). The distance between the | Beams is 40 mm, whereas the distance between the Cross Rod varies as per the Load requirement of the application.

Pultruded Fiberglass Grating is a fiberglass (FRP) structural shape that is produced by dipping fiberglass such as strand, mat and veil in a liquid resin bath and then pulling this combination through a heated die which shapes and cures the composite before it comes out the other end. It is a continuous and highly efficient method of producing a standard cross section.

A pultruded FRPG is a series of I or T shaped structural members (the bearing bars) that are mechanically strung together with evenly placed dowels or cross bars. This is similar to the way many steel and aluminum gratings are assembled.

The pultrusion is produced by dipping fiberglass such as strand, mat and veil in a liquid resin bath and then pulling this combination through a heated die which shapes and cures the composite before it comes out the other end. The cross bars often are slotted to provide some mechanical strength and the holes are then coated with epoxy. It is a continuous and highly efficient method of producing a standard cross section.

As a result of this system's construction, this can be assembled in various panel sizes and with multiple cross rod and bar spacing to provide for different requirements. The main benefit of the pultruded type is higher glass content which provides for a superior load capacity than it's molded counterpart.

Size (mm) : 40 x 40 mesh opening

Thickness (mm) : 6 Average

Height (mm) : 5 and 38 ( based on required load carring of the gratings.)

Purpose
In the specific areas where corrosion is very heavy and steel or aluminium gratings either needs replacement or frequent maintenance of painting, MPL FRP gratings is the best alternative.

Advantage
Monolithic, joint or seal free MPL FRP gratings have a distinct advantage over pultruded gratings, since two members of pultruded are sealed by FRP resin or adhesives and there is always a chance of formation of crack due to mechanical stress and strains such as walking or carrying materials. this will lead to coming of all the members together leaving a wide gap. These can be avoided in our gratings as there is not joints or seals.
